The Holy Grail of any website.
How to get Search Engines like, Google, Yahoo, etc to what's called, Rank your website and increase your hits, i.e. the number of people arriving at your site to view your services or products.
There are two types of listing on Search Engines;
Free listings are called "Organic Listing", this is where the Search engine has found your site for you without any direct request from yourself, this comes down to having a site that has good SEO.
"Paid for listings" is where you're paying for an Advert to be displayed advertising your site, SEO is still important for this type of listing but not to the same extent as Organic Listings.

Here's a list of some elements that govern how Search Engines Rank your site;
- The relevancy of your sites wording/content to the search being performed
- The number of pages within your website
- Does you website have a Site Map?
- Alt Tags on images within your site, Search Engines can't see images, so you need to tell the Search Engine what the picture is of.
- Relevant Page Titles on each web page
- How popular is your site with your peers, i.e. how many sites link to your site, but also, What's the Ranking of the site that's linking to you.
- Meta Tags ( Description & Keywords ), a summarisation of your site and who it would benefit.
- Articles, by adding articles to your site, it increases both the number of pages that make up your site and also the amount of relevant wording.
This is just a summary of the type of things we can do to help increase your sites Ranking, but this isn't a static process, the goal post is continuously moving as companies like Google and Yahoo change their algorithm that calculates a sites Ranking.
