What is Counselling and Psychotherapy?
|
During times of challenging life events, many people become overwhelmed by their thoughts and emotions. That is when it is beneficial to talk to a professional counsellor who is not emotionally involved in your life situation, to help you make sense of your predicament.
The purpose of counselling is to create a regular safe space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings with someone who is trained to listen with attention and without judgement. This strictly confidential therapeutic relationship supports you to make a journey of self discovery of your own inner resources for resolving your difficulties and easing your emotional pain.

HYPNOTHERAPY
|
Ultimately all hypnosis is self hypnosis since the client is always in control and can never be made to do something he or she does not want to do. This is why therapeutic hypnosis is not to be confused with stage hypnosis, where the only people who would get up on stage and dance with a broomstick for example, are those who like being outrageous anyway.
Hypnosis involves the induction of a trance-like state, enabling the client to suppress the critical factor part of their conscious mind and to allow the unconscious part of their mind to be revealed.
The hypnotherapist is then able to speak directly to the unconscious part of the client's mind, to re-programme negative thought patterns, thus enabling irrational fears, phobias, and physical or emotional pain to be overcome.
